Our 2 month marker

Woody and 55 had their two month check up, which meant shots. YUCK! 55 has now made it to 9 pounds 12 ounces. He is trying hard to catch Woody, who now weighs 12 pounds 4 ounces. Both are doing really well! The doc was impressed!

Gavin started soccer this week. He LOVES it. A good friend of ours is the coach, so that definatley helps. He was pretty excited to go get new soccer gear. He keeps asking when the next soccer game is. :)

Uncle Jim and Aunt Nancy are here to our rescue again. It sure is great having the extra hands around!

Gavin's 1st day of Preschool

Today was a big day at our household! Gavin started preschool. He is in the same school as last year, but at a new location as they just built a brand new site that hosts preschool through 8th grade. He was very excited to meet his new teachers and classmates. He thinks it is pretty cool that his teachers from last year are at his new school too. :)

More fun with family and friends!

Hello to all! Holy cow! It has been awhile...I guess I have some catching up to do. :) We all are doing well. We met with the pediatric surgeon about the hernia on the 20th. We found out the 55 also has something called a hydracele, which is a pocket of fluid in the scrotum. He will be getting both the hernia and the hydracele removed through a laproscopic surgery on the 18th of September. We are told this is a very easy thing. Infact, if he were two weeks older, it would be an outpatient surgery, but because of age, he will be spending one night in the hospital. We are looking forward to the surgery to be complete in hopes that it will make Royce more comfortable.

We have had lots of fun with our visitors. The Mais' and Shoemakers came and hung out for the day. Hannah was a second grade student of mine and is now graduated from highschool. My how time flies! Her older sister, Emily spends many Friday's with Gavin.

My sister Kristi and her two kids were also in town for a visit. They stayed four days with us. Gavin had fun playing with Trenton and Mackenzie.

Uncle Jim arrived back into town today. Aunt Nancy will be joining him tomorrow. We are so excited to have them back! They will be staying for a week and then will be leaving to Alaska for a cruise.

A visit from the Haynies' and Lemerys'

Hello to all. We have been falling behind in our updates...sorry.

Good news...the Dr. is pretty positive that we will not have to have the liver biopsy. The test results continue to decline, which is a great indication that 55 does not have biliary atresia. He also talked to another specialist in Denver regarding the Wilson's Disease test, and both doctors feel that is is unlikely he has it. The only way to be 100% is to perform the liver biopsy, but they feel this is unnecessary due to the great results of 55's labs. He will have one more lab test on Thurday, just to make sure the levels keep declining. Thanks for your prayers!

We had a great time having Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim here. Unfortunately they had to leave, but there is a possibility we may get to have them back. :) Right now Aunt Tami and cousins Kyla and Brandon are in town visiting. We are enjoying the extra hands. :)

More results...

55's results dropped again. YIPPEE~ His direct billirubin level dropped from 2.3 to 2.1 and his total billirubin level dropped from 4.1 to 3.6. This is a good thing. His direct billirubin level should be .5 so his is still much higher than they want it. His liver enzymes test also dropped. The AST was at 67 and dropped to 61 and his ALT went from 58 to 57. The levels are definately going in the right direction, but we are still unsure at this point the next plan of attack. His Pediatric GI is out of town until Monday, so he will review the results and determine whether or not he wants to perform the liver biopsy. This again will determine the diagnosis of biliary atresia. This is an important diagnosis as he would need to have surgery between 8-10 weeks of age and we are approaching 7 weeks already.

Everything is going great. Aunt Nancy and Uncle Jim leave town this evening. They are going to be missed. 55 has named Uncle Jim the best lap person in town. :)

Fun in the pool!

Holy cow! Now that Gavin has complete confidence in his swimming abilities, he is unstoppable. His nieces, Rebecca and Katie joined him for some fun in the pool, which included stacking three high on Mark and Gavin jumping off the edge and swimming back. Needless to say, Mom's heart stops everytime he goes in hoping that he will rise back up to the top. :) I am sure Woody and 55 are counting the days until they can join them in the pool. Thanks for the suits, Kristi, however, my sister-in-law, Sara says those pix are borderline child abuse. No sense of humor. :)
